EFFICIENCY 

Some energy is lost in the reflection process, but light concentration in combination with effective direct water cooling enhances the conversion efficiency of solar cells. Highly efficient, but more expensive types of solar cells can also be used more economical in our system due to the
reduced amount needed. The mirrors focus the light evenly onto the narrow solar cells that are placed in the modules. 


FLOATING MODULES
The concentrating solar panels float without the need for extra floating devices. The water also makes it possible to move the panel and track the sun in an easy way. The amount of tracking-components per square meter of panel is low which reduces the complexity and the need for maintenance. 
 

INSTALLATION PROCESS

The installation process is fast and easy due to large modules and with all of the few connections needed being done in an easy and efficient way. 

HYBRID VERSION

Instead of dumping the excess heat into the water in the lake, another possibility is to transfer this heat from the system using a heat exchanger. This way there is a possibility to convert even more sunlight into useful energy.

SOLAR COLLECTOR VERSION

Yet another option is a pure solar collector version that only produces heat. Our system makes it possible to achieve higher efficiency and higher temperatures than conventional flat plate solar collectors.

OPTICAL SIMULATION

With the support form VRI Rogaland, Teknova AS evaluated the optical design of our system using optical simulation software.
